The largest Flying Pig Marathon to date took place Sunday, May 1, 2016. More than 39,000 people registered for one or more events during the 18th annual Flying Pig race weekend. The Paycor-sponsored Half Marathon, which has become the weekend’s largest race, saw more than 12,000 registrants.
Paycor Associates were all over the place on race day, whether running or walking or volunteering at one of two places—the company’s water stop at 644 Linn Street or at the finish line. Paycor’s water stop at mile 4 is a long-held tradition, but this is the first year Paycor volunteers have experienced the joy of handing out Half Marathon medals at the finish line:
“I had the privilege of handing out medals yesterday at the finish line. I even got to give one to a friend from Paycor for completing the relay. It was an honor that I hope to repeat next year.” – Tracy, Paycor finish line volunteer
Paycor’s Chief Sales Officer and Flying Pig Streaker Scott Rudy completed his 18th Flying Pig Marathon on Sunday. Less than a year after facing a severe neck injury and hearing he may never walk again, Scott yesterday demonstrated what determination is all about: working hard and achieving your goals no matter what stands in the way.
